Project Overview
Heatwise Essex is a boiler and heating service company that needed a clear, trustworthy identity to support their work with residential clients. I designed the logo and built a simple brand system that could be used across uniforms, vehicles, paperwork, and digital platforms. The identity combines warmth and technical clarity, helping the company present itself as reliable, modern, and approachable.

Logo
The Heat wise logo features a stylised flame icon and a bold wordmark set in uppercase sans‑serif type. The gradient from purple to red reinforces the theme of heat and energy, while the clean geometry ensures legibility across tools, uniforms, and signage. The logo was designed to feel modern, professional, and scalable across both digital and physical applications.
Logo Variations
Colour Palette
The Heat wise palette is built around a warm gradient that transitions from deep purple to vibrant red, reflecting the brand’s focus on heating, energy, and reliability. These colours were chosen to evoke warmth and technical confidence, while remaining bold enough to stand out on vehicles, uniforms, and digital platforms.
Typography
The Heat wise wordmark is based on an existing typeface that I customised to create a more distinctive and ownable identity. Key letterforms including the E and A were adapted by removing select strokes to introduce a sharper, more technical feel. These adjustments give the brand a unique visual signature while keeping the typography clean, modern, and highly legible across uniforms, vehicles, and digital platforms.
Project Reflection
This project strengthened my ability to design a clean, trustworthy identity for a trade‑based service where clarity and reliability are essential. Developing the Heat wise logo taught me how to balance warmth and professionalism, using a gradient flame and customised letterforms to create a distinctive visual signature. I refined my skills in logo development, type customisation, and colour system creation, ensuring the brand remained practical for real‑world use across vehicles, uniforms, and digital platforms. All assets were created using Adobe Illustrator, with Photoshop used to prepare application visuals.
